At The Big House

Over the past few weeks my bathroom has been blitzed. On the floor was the old Victorian tiles. I did not want to loose them. This is what happened

It may be a hot summer day but work must still be done by the servants.
Today Mary called upon Daisy ( lived in the 1900’s) to help with the cleaning of the tiles
in the newly furbished ‘bathroom’.
Under Daisy’s instruction she went down on her hand and knees, beside her a bucket
of hot water (Mary wore gloves, don’t think they did in Daisy’s day). Taking the white vinegar
she sprinkled it over the floor and then began to scrub with the scrubbing brush. Next she
took the cloth and wiped over the area and rinsed. At the same time rubbing hard, the
dirt lifted and the tiles were shiny.m There was only one snag as yet to overcome. previous owners
showed no respect for the Victorian tiles and there are paint spots now to be removed.
