This and That

I have been sorting out my winter clothes and have washed then ready for the coming months. The hats, scarves and gloves were done too. I fear it will not be long before one has to put away those summer clothes. There is already a little chill in the air.

I have also tidied my drawers and wardrobe. My plan is to keep them all tidy.

With just the occasional rain it has been and opportunity to start planning for next year by planting bulbs. I have quite a bit of pruning to do too, in ‘putting the garden to bed’ for the winter.

Working on the Buddleia tree (the bird tree) I found the amount taken off is much more than other years. I find it very therapeutic to sit in the Autumn sunshine, birds singing, human noises around, as I cut the pieces smaller to go in the bag. Occasionally I have seen the V formation of the Canadian Geese fly over and I say a silent ‘Goodbye see you next Spring.’

Whilst pruning with the Loppers they decided to break and so cannot finish the tree. At this time of year it is difficult to replace them as most shops now put away the ‘gardening’ stuff to make way for the Christmas toys.

Spotty has now fully recovered. I wish her Mum (that’s me) could be better too. Spotty had a virus and the vet told me that the arthritis in her legs is very minimal.

As for me I have been ill since last October  with no treatment BUT Tuesday I have an appointment to see the specialist who sent me for a scan (which I had on 24 June) to just maybe recommend some treatment. I was told at the scan I have Gallstones. Still that’s the WALES NHS for you

In todays’ sunshine Spotty has had two lovely walks. The first when we walked down to the canal. On the way we go over the railway bridge but today we saw no trains Whilst she sniffed I could not resist picking a few blackberries that I made later into Blackberry Crumble.

Our second walk in the afternoon – up to the park where we both sat on to watch life on the pond.

That is all for now and I will sign off for today.
