Benji & Remembrance Day

This is a photo taken a few weeks back. He loves to roll around over his toys and make them squeak.

Today here in the U.K is Remembrance Sunday. The day to remember all those who lost their lives in the 2 great wars. As time has progressed more conflicts have occurred and so we also remember those too. I always remember all the people I once knew, Mum, my unknown Father, close family and friends too.

I go up to our local park where the entrance is ‘The Memorial Gates.’ It is there the poppies are laid after the service in the local church. But I always have my dog with me and I find a quiet corner to remember. This year we headed up to the middle pond. I bought a hot chocolate, always served in a plastic cup. I am now wise and pack my china cup. I went to sit on the seat over looking the pond. At 11 a.m. silence except for nature  and the sun shone strongly feeling warm. Few people around; children with adults; dogs with their respective owners. A delightful morning to reminisce on those who had left me – full of memories
